Scientific Base “St. Kliment Ohridski”
Since the beginning of its operation, the “St. Kliment Ohridski” Base has hosted international scientists working on various research projects related to the polar regions.

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences – Research on the movement of glaciers toward the ocean, which may accelerate as a result of climate change and contribute to rising sea levels.
At the Bulgarian Antarctic Base “St. Kliment Ohridski,” long-term studies and monitoring are conducted in the fields of biology, geophysics, and meteorology within the framework of the National Program for Polar Research. Scientific and logistic activities take place during the Antarctic summer, from December to February.
